  1. Hougang Voters are going to have a wind fall by voting for WP and have the PAP Grassroot Staff to work harder and more generously for them. Unless, PAP wants to abandon Hougang totally.

  2. Wow what a crowd! I thought HG only got 23k voters, this looks like more than the whole village shows up. How can a party that malfunction have the ability to draw such crowd?

    2. actually they have purposely malnourish the hougang voters..everyone can see lah. DC is just one opportunists who is desperate after the uncle's fiasco, so will do anything to get on PM's good books.

  3. Is clear Desmond cannot change the minds of the older loyalists of hougang, so now he's changing tactics and appeal to the youths there. Asking them to demand for change is laughable. The last thing you expect change is from a Party that will never change. All they change is your demographics. Everything else will be made way ..just have to look at how they run the country on a national level, you won't even recognize what is singapore let alone, hougang anymore.

    1. Agree. They never change and expect others to do so.

  4. Be honest. I still believe a young MP does not equip with a mature thought and a mature heart to serve the residents. At this age, they are still working hard for their future. I doubt they will sacrific much for the nation.

    1. The difference is that WP candidate know the highest he can climb is to be a MP. Haed work and not so attractive pay. DC knows if he win, there is a chance for him to move up as minister. Fat pay and no work. Kiss babies, handshake and attend lunches/dinners.

  5. All round great performance by WP team.

LTK's rebuttal are awesome. Finally realized what desmond choo has been doing are all the work that an RC or PA should be doing but he as GRO has glorified it for election purposes. So true!

If there are Opposition GROs in every of the 81 wards, all the opposition candidates running for GE 2016 can also claim too. Is this allowed, or as usual, just a one party street only?!

  6. The people who need hearing aids are the Papies -
maybe then they can you hear the righteous indignation of Hougangers who are not for sale. Dark clouds are ahead for the PAP. This is a prelude for 2016.

  7. PAP made a tactical mistake in HG. Desmond Choo is just too young, too elitist and too brash for the likes of the HG folks. His mannerisms to endear himself to people look very fake, honestly. On the other hand, Ah Huat come across as more matured, sincere and down to earth. The fact that he has been serving HG since 2006 speak volumes by itself, no need to brag.

    1. They called him sincere? It's like watching pornstar playing orgasm.
      LTK said it well...它们其实都是政府援助政策的一部...,朱倍庆是拿人民的钱,“往自己脸上贴金”。

Stop pretending you care. Like Png said - If you are truly inclusive govt, you will upgrade every old required constituencies regardless of the party you vote. That is the evidence right there of how PAP punishes HG voters, then try and play Samaritans later.

That's the biggest mistake PAP ever make. The internet and tech-savvy youth is the stronghold of opp party. You can't lie with fact and collective intelligence of the web. The only advantage that PAP can play is to manipulate the oldies with their ShittyMedia, but look like they miss their chance.

  9. The photos indicate a fabulous turnout for the WP rally but somehow I cannot help thinking "what if LowTK had done the unexpected, publicly inviting PM Lee and DesmondChoo to address the crowd, allocating each person 30 mins to make their speech and thereafter followed by 10 questions from the crowd"?

LowTK can proclaim he is giving PM Lee the chance to show Hougang residents how his PAP policies have benefitted them as well as majority of ordinary singaporeans.

    1. Great idea.

But the excuse will be that he is afraid he cannot be heard above the sound of the "boos".

      Delete
    2. even if the PM turns up, he will probably go for plenty of toilet breaks in between fielding questions, and i am sure LowTK can count on the crowd to park a portable toilet just behind him....LOL

    3. It will be interesting to see how many chartered buses and free dinners they will be shuttling people to attend PAP rally.

    4. Haven't you heard that their chartered buses all broke down recently... so don't be surprise that no one shows up at the PAP rally.

  10. Every single PAP candidate always claim that they are their own man during election hustings. Once voted in, they quietly toe the party line and forget their promises of speaking out for their electorade. Am MP's allowance is not an act of charity from taxpayers.

    1. Anon 9:10am,
You are absolutely right. At least for those in the last 4 GE.
Very difficult to cast off that Group-think mentality & survival instinct. Not when it dawn upon them that they had better pluck all that come with new status and open their eyes to the real-lives situation of their constituents during MPS and perhaps candid disclosures.....

    2. Before an election, the political party gets to choose who will stand for elections.

So how independent do you think a Pro Alien Party MP can be?
MPs are chosen to stand for elections because they have demonstrated their willingness to toe the party line.

      Still not convinced?
Maybe TCB can share some viewpoints.

But in support of Hougang and WP, I cancelled my long running subscription to the Shitty Times this week.

Feel so sorry for PM and his Party. HG voters have been doing it very carefully NOT to vote for a Blind party who can't see the failure and unjust policies it is infringing upon them.

  13. I don't know why they sent an Indian MP who can hardly speak tamil. It was a torture to watch him struggling to read from script. Even Gerald Giam has no fire in his belly and look tepid. Better speakers are Pritam, SL, LTK and CSM. Png seems like a better public speaker than he is 1-on-1. He needs to articulate his thoughts better with media. It is hilarious to watch how desmond chop can go on 13 mins of rattling non-stop of minutiae details and comparing Png's interview that lasted 3 mins of brief one-liner paragraphs.

PM lee, we don't have Real Democracy, until we have more Opposition voices in Parliament, and reduce your majority to below two thirds. We need more Checks and Balances to make you more Accountable to the people, and not a dominant single party that can run roughshod over us and the Constitution.

    1. Despite that PM Lee wish to suggest wrt democracy, people should understand that popular participation in a democracy does not, and should not, only be evident at election/by election time.

      Genuine democracies are characterised by
      1) freedoms of speech, association and protest
      2) by signing petitions,
      3) discussing politics with someone else (civic NGO),
      4) contacting an elected MP or attending a political meeting

all of which give rise to a myriad of different forms of political engagement. How many of the above 'democratic' things can Singaporeans do here? And apart from local election, do Singaporeans have a separate national election where national issues can be voted on? Clearly the answer is NO. As such, local/national issues in Singapore context today is one and the same.

    2. Remember Emeritus Goh's Vision 1984 is to see Singapore becoming a “city of excellence” and a “society of distinction”. After 15 years in 1999, he said such standards are achieved , via GDP.
Another 13 years later in 2012, we became a 'city for "excellent FTs" and a society of extinction.

  17. Actually, if WP can give you low council tax, value for money and look after the precinct well, those in my views would make them qualify for an MP seat in parliament.

As for those housing estates upgrading, elderly programs or other schemes that can only be pressured by having a strong opposition parties to influence and coerce the govt to do more. And if they are inclusive (to all singaporeans regardless of race, religion & party affiliations), such programs should indeed be extended to ALL . The fact that PAP didn't and choose NOT to, they are discriminating HG voters undemocratically. That should give HG voters more reasons to stand firm (like a candle in the dark) , but also as a mirror to all other constituencies in Singapore, to do the right thing for democracy.

  18. We must always read between the lines, whenever the PAP say anything :
    Eg- an inclusive society { can mean everyone including our foreign visitors / talents}
    . - Poly students can find jobs easily { note "students" doing part-time especially during vacations!}
They are technically correct. Remember, they have numerous lawyers among their ranks.
It was highlighted before: Lawyers/Generals & Doctors are more comfortable serving as PAP ministers/MOS/MP than any other professionals.

  19. When ST today showed the pic of our PM sitting next to some old lady in a Hougang flat, I just wondered whether in his heart he really cared ?

Remember this is the same PM who admitted putting the upgrading plans for Hougang at the end of the queue if the voters don't vote for PAP. Why don't he simply says it to the point, just fucked off if you all don't vote for PAP ?

Why act as if he had cared in the first place ?

    1. Well said. This is Wayang at its best. Tomorrow if WP wins, PM will disappear from HG and may erase this picyure altogahter.

To be credible, ruling party must take care of ALL Singaporeans and not those who put them into power. That is called INCLUSIVE politic and would win losts of respect from people. True democracy has a long way to come.

  20. Tommy Koh's recent article on wage differences of drivers and cleaners are clear that the Unions have failed their job in fighting for a fair wage for workers. Desmond is a Union member, if he can't do anything right during his term there for past decade, why will he have any influence to fix this?
In fact, i understand he used to run productivity initiatives too. He is probably one of those who supported LSS proposition!

  22. The only "upgrade" that HG voters want is an upgrade of LTK from HG SMC to Aljunied GRC! When PAP does it , they call it "party renewal". When WP does it, they call it "abandoning". How pathetic are they?

  23. Hi Hougang voters, you must get Png Eng Huat into parliament to add more voice for the opposition. The PAP government is getting very complacent and forgetful about their past members who are corrupted (convicted and jailed) brought shame to Sinagapore for their misconduct and one Phey Yew Kok still not brought to justice. Our so "very efficient police force is unable to trace him down?" So whosoever points a finger and accusing them of misdoings, do not forget that his three other fingers are pointing to himself.
