The Take Down Of Pinoy Ello

Except for a side distraction from the mainstream media about the surprise find of a columbarium next to some new public housing development, the online pursuit of a black sheep in the foreigner population pool was accomplished in pretty good time.

3 Jan - A "Edz Ello" sends message to the country: "I will be praying that disators (sic) strike Singapore and more Singaporeans will die than (sic) I will celebrate." It was obviously not the best of congratulatory salutations for the SG50 festivities.

4 Jan (11 am) - Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) issues a statement on its Facebook page, promising to look into the matter: "Dear all, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We expect our staff to be respectful and professional. Rest assured we are looking into this."

4 Jan (1 pm) - TTSH issues an update on Facebook claiming that their Filipino employee’s Facebook account had been hacked, implying the offensive postings were not made by him. TTSH also said its employee has made a police report, hopefully mindful that giving false information to a public servant is a serious offence. Offenders can be punished with a jail term, or with a fine, or both.

4 Jan - Former Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP) Calvin Cheng reminds Singaporeans to "have more of a backbone and thickskin", adding:
"Tan Tock Seng Hospital has said that the account of its Filipino staff was hacked but even if it wasn't so what? Are you going to go on a frenzied witch -hunt just because some foreigner called you a loser on the Internet ?"

5 Jan - Philippine Embassy issues a reminder to its Facebook followers to be responsible when posting online content. Not sure if also directed against Cheng's ranting commentary.

5 Jan - TTSH's latest Facebook post announces that nurse Ello has been put on “administrative duties”, pending police investigations. The Hospital does not make it entirely clear whether the police are investigating the hacking of Ello's account or the offensive comments attributed to him.

6 Jan - The Singapore Police Force (SPF) acknowledges a report has been lodged against the TTSH staff member.

9 Jan - TTSH announces that "We have dismissed Mr Ello Ed Mundsel Bello from our Hospital immediately for his offensive online comments made in 2014 while in our Hospital’s employment." Apparently someone confirmed Ello Ed Mundsel Bello a.k.a. Edz Ello has owned up authorship to the inflammatory posts. As quid quo pro, TTSH hit out at another posting: "We would also like to clarify that a quarter of our staff are foreigners, contrary to the inaccurate report by Shin Min Daily News on 5 January 2015." Hmmm, looks like Calvin Cheng is not the only Pinoy lover in town.

  1. How many more columbariums will be introduced into HDB estates over the next 10 years?

Does PAP Millionaire Minister Khaw have to come clean?
Should he tell future HDB flat owners the truth about all the future columbariums which will be coming into our HDB estates?

  2. /// "The best part, I will be praying that disators strike Singapore and more Singaporeans will die than I will celebrate.

"REMEMBER PINOY BETTER AND STRONGER THAN STINKAPOREANS," he said. ///

As a nurse, this Pinoy arsehole is in a very good position to kill off Stinkaporeans by pulling off the plugs or administering wrong medicine or extra doses.

Why did TTSH even have to investigate the claim that his account was hacked. It was obviously done by a Pinoy - only a pinoy will pronounce disasters as disators, and spell losers as loosers.

We have let in millions of fifth columnists and Trojan horses, and yet our security supremo is talking about Paris-style shooting when guns are not that easily available (unless new citizens serving NS).

Foreign nurses killing patients, foreign security guards at the airports letting in weapons or bombs, security guards at the checkpoints letting in undesirables, foreign staff in MRT depots planting bombs, spraying chemicals or grafitti, etc. These are the REAL security concerns.

  3. This smug Calvin is not the only idiot in town. He is a boon to the opposition - his silly pieces which does not do Oxford University proud. Why wasn't Ello arrested for his blast against the Muslim religion?

  4. Haha.......

Really, at times our Rulers really have to ask themselves if they know their jobs.
    Or
    if they understand their duties.

Are they(Rulers) so blinded by money(KPI)?

  5. This is the message posted by TTSH on Facebook: "Dear all, the staff concerned is one of our nurses. He has reported to the police that his Facebook account has been hacked. We are cooperating with the police on the investigation. Thank you for the alerts and concern."

You claim that, "TTSH issues an update on Facebook claiming that their Filipino employee’s Facebook account had been hacked, implying the offensive postings were not made by him."

The claim is about a police report being made. TTSH did not say that it believed that the employee's account was being hacked. "Our staff has made a police report" is very different from "Our staff's account has been hacked".

Is your misleading statement due to you failing to comprehend simple English, or are there intentional political motivations involved?

    1. Note that TTSH was bombarded with calls to take action against the employee since his ranting first appeared on Jan 3. Even when they released the statement about the hacked account, they took NO action against the employee. At the same time, a former NMP wrote that "Tan Tock Seng Hospital has said that the account of its Filipino staff was hacked" which is no different than saying "TTSH issues an update on Facebook claiming that their Filipino employee’s Facebook account had been hacked, implying the offensive postings were not made by him."

TTSH only capitulated to heavy social media criticisms that it finally put the employee on administrative leave on Jan 5.

Most online observers, including the former NMP, made the same observation as Tatler. You are the one smart aleck who is trying to score point here.

    2. PAP MP for Tampines Baey Yam Keng asking Singaporeans to ‘reflect’ upon themselves after it surfaced that NUS PRC scholar Sun Xu posted on on his microblog ‘Weibo’ there “being more dogs than humans in Singapore” is no different than NMP Calvin Cheng's "even if it wasn't (hacked) so what?" remark. Both demonstrate the pro-foreigner agenda of their political masters, and the justification of the Population White Paper. TTSH, a public institution, acted in similar vein when it initially tried to defend Edz Ello, and then attacked Shin Min for exposing its foreigner hire policy. If that's not too much politics, TTSH CEO Professor Philip Choo is rumoured to be promoted because of close association to one former deputy prime minister.

  8. Dr Lam Pin Min, MP for Sengkang West.
Why does he sit together with HDB, URA and Life Corp people?
Why he does not sit with his constituents, the Singaporerans of Sengkang West?

  9. Now, one person is unemployed.

    Regardless of race, ethnicity, religion.
The policy of allowing foreigners in is still in operation.
The policy is what needs to be changed... that should be the victim, not getting at individuals.

The authorities would love to settle the dust with just 1 sacking... and they will keep the door wide open for replacements.

Get the policy changed, failing which,
    Get the Gov changed.

You can't change LKY unless you can rewrite "The Hard Truths".

      We need to as ourselves:
Does PAP represent LKY or Singaporeans in parliament?
